It just occurred to me today for some reason that it seems like CAC stickers could be easily counterfeited and added to a coin, or taken off one coin and put on another of higher value. It is just a sticker, right? Wouldn’t that be pretty easy to reproduce, even with a hologram? Wonder if that has happened, and also wonder if they can be removed without ruining the sticker. Hopefully they have some security measures in place to prevent this, but again it’s just a sticker!!

It would be hard to remove the sticker and then be able to affix it to another coin. Also the sticker can be authenticated by looking it up on the CAC site. The same can be done for the Eagle Eye photo cert for Indian cents.

So you mean you can look up the coin number on the CAC site to see if it belongs on the holder?

Okay well that makes sense to have that because otherwise, it’s just a sticker! I wonder if they have been counterfeited before though. Has anyone heard any reports of fake CAC stickers? Thanks for the info David!
